MAGTANIM NAPO
Magtanim nAPO Tayo is a flagship initiative of the Alpha Phi Omega Theta Alumni Service Foundation, Inc. (APO Theta ASFI), dedicated to environmental sustainability. The project, located at Vargas Hall, Boy Scouts of the Philippines, Mount Makiling, UPLB, covers one hectare of land and features endemic trees such as Narra, Cacao, and Kamagong. Formalized on February 12, 2023, through a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the project aims to adopt and protect the area for at least five years. APO Theta Chapter members make regular maintenance visits, and the project seeks to create an eco-park for wildlife, education, and community engagement.
Since its inception, the annual ‘Magtanim nAPO Tayo’ event has brought together volunteers to plant trees and promote environmental conservation. The envisioned eco-park will become a tourist attraction, showcasing native biodiversity and serving as a lasting testament to APO Theta ASFI's commitment to sustainability and community impact. Magtanim nAPO Tayo is more than just a tree-planting project; it is a legacy of environmental responsibility.
GREEN MOBILITY
The University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) and the Alpha Phi Omega Theta Alumni Service Foundation, Inc. (APO Theta ASFI) have formalized a Memorandum of Agreement to advance UPLB’s Green Mobility Initiative. Represented by Chancellor Jose V. Camacho, Jr., Vice Chancellor Roberto P. Cereno, MM (OVCCA), and APO Theta ASFI President Tito Tolentino alongside Sis Corazon C. Davis, the partnership focuses on promoting eco-friendly transportation across the campus.
Key projects under this collaboration include the 'Bike Paths and Racks Project,' which aims to reduce UPLB’s carbon footprint by encouraging bicycle use. APO Theta ASFI’s upcoming efforts will include installing bike racks at the Dev Com Building, reinforcing their commitment to sustainable mobility and environmental stewardship.
This initiative highlights the shared vision of UPLB and APO Theta ASFI to create a greener, more sustainable campus for future generations.

DAMAYAN SA THETA
In times of hardship, “Damayan sa Theta” serves as a lifeline for APO Theta and APO Theta AA Inc. members, offering financial support for medical and burial expenses. This initiative eases the burden of hospitalization, medical operations, check-ups, medicine purchases, and other related costs, allowing members to focus on recovery and healing.
Damayan sa Theta also provides burial assistance to the families of deceased members, recognizing the emotional and financial toll of loss while honoring their loved ones with dignity. Beyond financial aid, the service strengthens the bond within the APO Theta community. It reflects the fraternity's commitment to solidarity and mutual support, ensuring that no member faces challenges alone. Together, members transform difficulties into opportunities for unity and resilience, fostering a stronger and more compassionate brotherhood and sisterhood.
KAPOTIRAN SA THETA
Alpha Phi Omega values education, as echoed in the mantra, “Study hard for APO.” In line with this, APO Theta launched the “KAPOtiran sa Theta” to support resident members facing financial struggles while maintaining good academic standing. This initiative, part of APO’s fourfold service programs, focuses on service to the fraternity and sorority by providing financial assistance to ease educational expenses. By reducing financial concerns, residents can focus on their studies, inspiring them to strive for excellence and reach their academic goals. Eligible resident members receive a monthly stipend to cover daily and academic-related expenses. Additionally, an undergraduate thesis grant may be provided to support research efforts, enabling members to produce high-quality work.
KAPOtiran sa Theta reflects the fraternity's commitment to nurturing a supportive organization that values and celebrates academic excellence, ensuring its members thrive both within APO and beyond.

COMMUNITY SERVICE
Our commitment to community service goes beyond projects—it is about building relationships and creating opportunities for growth. Through initiatives in education, environmental sustainability, health, and campus development, we work hand in hand with communities to address their needs and inspire long-term positive change. Each effort reflects our dedication to living out the APO ideals of Leadership, Friendship, and Service.
RELIEF OPERATIONS
In times of crisis, APO Theta ASFI stands ready to extend a helping hand. Our relief operations provide immediate support to communities affected by natural disasters and emergencies, delivering essential goods, medical aid, and assistance to those in need. By mobilizing alumni and volunteers, we aim to ease burdens, restore hope, and reinforce solidarity when it matters most.

KNOWLEDGE TO ACTION
On April 8, 2024, APO Theta ASFI hosted a successful Basic Hydroponics Seminar and Training, attracting 75 participants. The event featured Sis Gracey Peregrin (Batch 2004A), APO alumna and owner of D&D Hydroponic Farm, as the guest speaker. Held both in-person and virtually, the seminar introduced participants to hydroponic farming, a sustainable, soil-less method of growing plants using nutrient-rich water solutions. Attendees learned about setting up hydroponic systems, essential nutrients, and maintaining ideal growing conditions. Sis Gracey shared her expertise, offering proven techniques from D&D Hydroponic Farm. Hands-on training allowed participants to practice and confidently begin their own hydroponic gardens. The seminar’s high attendance and engagement highlighted the increasing interest in sustainable urban farming. This initiative reflects APO’s commitment to community service and environmental sustainability, empowering attendees with valuable skills for a greener future.
TORCHBEARERS
The Torchbearer project aims to enhance safety, visibility, and accessibility along Pili Drive by installing strategically placed streetlights. This initiative will provide much-needed illumination for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists, improving the overall experience on this key route. The project seeks to increase safety by reducing dark, hazardous areas, particularly at night, and minimizing risks. It will also enhance visibility, making navigation easier and preventing accidents. Additionally, the project aims to improve accessibility for residents, students, and visitors, ensuring a safer and more convenient passage for all. Through the Torchbearer project, APO Theta ASFI reaffirms its commitment to service and community development, fostering a secure, inclusive, and welcoming environment for the UPLB community and its neighbors. This initiative is a significant step toward making everyday life safer and more efficient for everyone.
